Abstract(s)
Na navegação é fundamental conhecer o meio envolvente o melhor possível por forma
a proteger a unidade naval de possíveis perigos, salvaguardando-a. Para que isso seja
possível, a navegação deve ser apoiada por sistemas e sensores constituintes da ponte de
um navio. Entre os navios da Marinha Portuguesa são produzidos e transferidos uma
grande diversidade de dados, no âmbito da sua atividade operacional. Para que estes dados
sejam úteis e possam servir de suporte à tomada de decisão dos operadores,
nomeadamente, ao nível do comando e controlo nos meios navais, é necessário haver uma
recolha e processamento dos mesmos. A ponte dos navios é um exemplo de centro de
tomada de decisão, associada à condução da navegação, integrando uma equipa de
operadores (equipa de navegação) com uma panóplia de sensores, sistemas de informação
e de apoio à tomada de decisão. A evolução destes sistemas cognitivos conjuntos tem
vindo a desafiar a forma como a tecnologia está a suportar as tarefas e funções da equipa,
propondo-se o desenvolvimento de novas soluções de apoio à decisão. Esta dissertação
aponta no sentido do desenvolvimento de novos sistemas de apoio à decisão, através de
processos de Business Intelligence. Este têm por base um sistema de processamento
analítico cujos dados são transferidos para um data warehouse, considerada uma
infraestrutura chave neste processo. Esta dissertação consistiu, pois, em modelar os dados
de maneira a que estes pudessem ser utilizados como fonte de abastecimento de vários
outros projetos no âmbito do conhecimento situacional marítimo. O sistema criado irá
servir de suporte a uma interface gráfica que será desenvolvida noutro projeto de
dissertação
In navigation, it is essential to have a good situational awareness in order to protect the naval unit from possible dangers, safeguarding it. To realize this, navigation must be supported by navigational systems and sensors located in the ships’ bridge. Between Portuguese navy ships, there are produced and transferred multiple data, due to their operational activity. So that the data is useful in terms of command and control in naval environments, it is necessary to collect and process them. Ships’ bridge is a good example for a decision-making centre, associated with navigation task, integrated with an operators’ team aided by systems and sensors for decision making support. Joint cognitive systems’ evolution has been challenging the way that technology affects teams’ task and dynamics, proposing the development of new decision support solutions. The development of a new decision support system requires the construction of a database through Business Intelligence processes. This works based on an analytical processing system which data is transferred to a data warehouse, a key-feature in this process. The final phase consists of modelling the data in a way that they work as a computational tool which can be used as a supply source for numerous projects in this area. In this specific case, this system will support another developing project
