Abstract(s)
Enquadramento: A escala The Indicators of Quality Nursing Work Environment
No presente
questionário IQN-WE. O estudo decorreu em contexto hospitalar. A escala IQN-WE
Objetivos: Adaptar culturalmente e linguisticamente a escala IQN-WE,
originando a versão portuguesa. Analisar as características psicométricas da escala
IQN-WE na versão portuguesa.
Métodos: O estudo realizado é do tipo quantitativo, observacional e descritivo transversal.
uma qualidade de ajustamento boa (2033,593/1119=1,817; CFI= 0,781; GFI= 0,675;
RMSEA=0,076; P [rmsea< ou =0,05] <0,001; MECVI = 18,031), com 5 fatores.
Background: The Indicators of Quality Nursing Work Environment scale (IQN WE) with 65 items, developed by Chiou-Fen Lin, Meei-Shiow Lu and Hsiu-Ying Huang in 2016, aims to develop a set of quality indicators for the Nursing Practice Environment (APE) in Taiwan. In the present study, the IQN-WE questionnaire was translated and validated for the Portuguese cultural context. The study took place in a hospital context. The IQN-WE scale considers more recent aspects of the APE, which have become important in recent years. Thus, given the importance and relevance of the quality of the APE at national level, it was considered relevant to translate and adapt a scale with quality indicators for nursing practice environment for the Portuguese population. Objectives: Culturally and linguistically adapting the IQN-WE scale, originating the Portuguese version. Analyse the psychometric characteristics of the IQN-WE scale in the Portuguese version. Methods: This is a quantitative, observational, and cross-sectional descriptive study. The IQN-WE was validated in a sample of 142 nurses belonging to a hospital centre, in Portugal. Results: An instrument with 50 items divided into 5 dimensions was obtained, with a total explained variance of 52.67% and KMO=0.843. There was a strong to moderate linear correlation matrix between dimensions. Content validity was ensured by conducting the pre-test and by the expert team. Reliability was guaranteed through the determination of the internal consistency, having been tested using Cronbach's Alpha with 0.953. Construct validity was performed using Confirmatory Factor analysis. The factorial model of the IQN-WE-PT scale showed a good quality of adjustment (2033,593/1119=1,817; CFI= 0,781; GFI= 0,675; RMSEA=0,076; P [rmsea< or =0,05] <0,001; MECVI = 18,031), with 5 factors. Conclusion: An instrument with 50 items in 5 dimensions was achieved: Team Support and Professional Development; Team Organization and Management; Safe Practice Environment; Information Systems and Risk Control; Compensation and Welfare. The IQN-WE-PT scale proved to be an appropriate instrument to be applied in Portugal, through its psychometric characteristics in any context of Hospital Care, Primary Health Care, Integrated Continuing Care and Residential Structures for the Elderly.
