Abstract(s)
A deglutição tem como principais funções a nutrição e a hidratação, desempenhando
ainda um importante papel na regulação da proteção da via aérea. A alteração que ocorre
durante este processo denomina-se de disfagia, sendo que esta condição pode acarretar
diversos problemas para a pessoa, uma vez que as suas consequências potenciam a
morbilidade, a mortalidade, o agravamento do estado geral de saúde e, por sua vez, a
diminuição da qualidade de vida da pessoa e dos seus cuidadores. O Enfermeiro
Especialista em Enfermagem de Reabilitação, como profissional com conhecimento
sobre prática baseada na evidência, é autónomo na avaliação, diagnóstico e tratamento
desta condição, constituindo-se como uma mais-valia no processo de recuperação da
pessoa com alterações da deglutição. No fundo, o Enfermeiro Especialista em
Enfermagem de Reabilitação intervém no sentido de diminuir os riscos e potenciar a
melhoria no processo de deglutição, com o objetivo de capacitar a pessoa e a família,
tendo como finalidade potenciar a qualidade de vida e a reinserção na sociedade. Além
disso, o Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Reabilitação, devido às
competências que lhe estão inerentes, tem um papel primordial nas questões relacionadas
com a formação em serviço e a capacitação dos enfermeiros da prática clínica. Assim, o
trabalho desenvolvido ao longo do estágio de opção, e apresentado neste relatório, teve
como principal objetivo melhorar o conhecimento e capacidade dos enfermeiros do
Serviço de Hospitalização Domiciliária para identificar compromissos na deglutição dos
utentes, diminuindo, desta forma, o risco de aspiração. A metodologia utilizada inseriu se no projeto de melhoria da qualidade, como estratégia de intervenção profissional,
tendo-se realizado uma formação em serviço, estruturada de acordo com a evidência
encontrada na revisão integrativa da literatura.

The alteration that occurs during this process is called dysphagia, and this condition can cause several problems for the person, since its consequences increase morbidity, mortality, the worsening of the general state of health and, in turn, the decrease in the quality of life of the person and their caregivers. The Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing, as a professional with knowledge of evidence based practice, is autonomous in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of this condition, constituting an added value in the recovery process of the person with swallowing disorders. Basically, the Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing intervenes in order to reduce the risks and enhance the improvement in the swallowing process, with the aim of empowering the person and the family, with the aim of enhancing the quality of life and reintegration into society. In addition, the Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing, due to the skills inherent to him, has a key role in issues related to in-service training and training of nurses in clinical practice. Thus, the work carried out throughout the option stage, and presented in this report, had as its main objective to improve the knowledge and capacity of nurses in the Hospital at Home Service to identify swallowing compromises among users, thus reducing the risk of aspiration.The methodology used was part of the quality improvement project, as a professional intervention strategy, with in-service training being carried out, structured according to the evidence found in the integrative literature review
