Abstract(s)
Introdução: O envelhecimento da população é uma das mais significativas tendências do século XXI nas sociedades desenvolvidas. O aumento da longevidade depende de um fator fundamental, a saúde. Desta forma, a promoção da saúde é de extrema importância enquanto processo de capacitação das pessoas, possibilitando um envelhecimento com saúde e autonomia. A literacia em saúde é fundamental para a promoção da saúde, prevenção da doença e utilização eficaz e eficiente dos serviços de saúde. Alguns contextos específicos devem ser considerados como aliados neste processo, entre eles estão as Universidades Sénior.
Objetivo: Foi delineado como objetivo geral: Contribuir para a promoção da Literacia em Saúde dos alunos da Universidade Sénior do Alentejo, até janeiro de 2023.
Metodologia: Utilizou-se a metodologia de Planeamento em Saúde. Recorreu-se ao questionário HLS-EU-PT como instrumento de colheita de dados.
Resultados: Do diagnóstico de saúde sobressaiu que a maioria dos alunos que frequenta a universidade tem nível de Literacia em Saúde problemático ou desadequado (69%). O domínio promoção da saúde apresenta o índice médio mais baixo com 29,9.
Conclusão: Neste contexto foi construído e implementado um projeto de intervenção comunitária. Após a sua avaliação, concluiu-se que foram atingidos os objetivos e ficou demonstrada a importância da educação para a saúde, como estratégia fundamental para contribuir para a Literacia em Saúde dos alunos da Universidade Sénior.
Introduction: Population aging is one of the most significant trends of the XXI century in developed societies. Increased longevity depends on a fundamental factor, health. In this way, health promotion is extremely important as a process of empowering people, enabling healthy and autonomous aging. Health literacy is critical to health promotion, disease prevention and effective and efficient use of health services. Some specific contexts should be considered as allies in this process, among them are Senior Universities. Objective: It was outlined as a general objective: Contribute to the promotion of Health Literacy of the students of the Senior University of Alentejo, until January 2023. Methodology: The Health Planning methodology was used. The HLS-EU-PT questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument. Results: From the health diagnosis, it emerged that the majority of students attending the university have a problematic or inadequate level of Health Literacy (69%). The health promotion domain has the lowest average index with 29,9. Conclusion: In this context, a community intervention project was built and implemented. After its evaluation, it was concluded that the objectives were achieved and the importance of health education was demonstrated, as a fundamental strategy to contribute to the Health Literacy of the students of the Senior University.
