Abstract(s)
In a highly globalized world, and where customers are becoming more attentive and informed, it very important to ensure that what we deliver to final customers is precisely what they expect. Not only in terms of the final product, but also within the expected time frame. Increasingly, time is a critical success factor for any organization. Thus, it becomes essential that in any production process, the time lost, whether due to breakdowns, periodic maintenance, or any other reason, is minimal or even non-existent. For this to happen, it is fundamental to have a good flow of information, to guarantee its reliability, to provide the necessary material in stock for any intervention at any time, so that downtime become as short as possible. Of course, for this it is necessary to plan properly the inventory needs to be available in the warehouse, but it is also essential to have effective control of the material that is removed when there is a repair or maintenance to be done, in order to guarantee that the stock that exists in warehouse is correct (to avoid that, in the event of a new need, that stock does not exist) and to guarantee timely replenishments when it falls below the minimum security stock.
