Na presente dissertação apresenta-se um estudo da paisagem aplicado a área de estudo de São Pedro de Sul, desenvolvendo-se um processo amplo que envolve diversas de etapas.O estudo inicia-se com um trabalho de enquadramento geral do tema, seguindo-se de uma caracterização detalhada dos diversos componentes que definem a paisagem, começando pelos aspetos culturais e pela caracterização biofísica. Em seguida estudam-se as principais vulnerabilidades do território, e a evolução do uso e ocupação do solo no período de 1995 a 2018. Por fim analisa-se a multifuncionalidade da paisagem.O planeamento ao nível da paisagem é complexo, contudo é uma ferramenta valiosa na preservação de áreas naturais e culturais, promovendo o equilíbrio entre a preservação da beleza natural e cultural da região e as necessidades de desenvolvimento antropogénico sustentável. Pode e deve ajudar a orientar o desenvolvimento sustentável e garantir que a beleza e os recursos da paisagem sejam preservados para as gerações futuras, em que a caracterização da paisagem torna-se uma das etapas fundamentais.
In this dissertation, a landscape study is presented, applied to the study area of São Pedro do Sul, developing a comprehensive process that involves various stages.The study begins with a general framework of the theme, followed by a detailed characterisation of the various components that define the landscape, starting with cultural aspects and biophysical characterisation. Next, the main vulnerabilities of the territory are studied, along with the evolution of land use and occupation from 1995 to 2018. Finally, the multifunctionality of the landscape is analysed.Landscape planning is complex but is a valuable tool for the preservation of natural and cultural areas, promoting a balance between the preservation of the region's natural and cultural beauty and the needs for sustainable anthropogenic development. It can and should help guide sustainable development and ensure that the beauty and resources of the landscape are preserved for future generations, making landscape characterisation one of the fundamental steps.
