Abstract(s)
Este trabalho desenvolve, numa primeira fase, o percurso profissional de uma
docente que desempenhou a maior parte das suas funções, em funções de
topo na Escola Pública Portuguesa do ensino não superior e funções técnicas
num organismo da Administração Central. Trata-se de um relatório onde se
descreve o percurso escolar, o percurso na área da administração escolar e na
área da administração central da referida docente. Aborda, posteriormente, a
liderança escolar, mais objectivamente os estilos de liderança, que os gestores
escolares podem adoptar. Pretende-se elencar um possível perfil ideal de
gestor escolar, o único capaz de lidar com a mudança e sustentar actores
educativos na condução da escola. A compreensão da complexidade das
dinâmicas de liderança nos cenários escolares, torna necessário uma
gramática da liderança que articule as suas duas dimensões: a fonética e a
semântica. Utilizando a metáfora de Sergiovanni (2001), precisamos de fazer
alguma luz sobre “the hearts, the heads and the hands” dos líderes escolares,
para compreender o que valorizam e aquilo em que acreditam (the heart),
como interpretam a realidade (the head) e os seus modos de agir (the hands).
This work, develops, in a first phase, the professional route of a teacher, who played most of her roles in senior positions in the Portuguese Public School, non higher education, and also technical functions in a central government agency. This report describes the educational route, the school educational management route and also the central management of the teacher. It approaches, posteriorly, school leadership, focussing school leadership styles, which school managers can use. It is pretended to list a possible ideal profile of a school manager, the only who is able to deal with changes and sustain the school actors in managing a school. The complexity understanding of the leadership dynamics in the school set requires a leadership grammar that vocalizes the two dimensions: the phonetic and the semantics. Using the metaphor of Sergiovanni (2001) we need to make some light upon “the hearts, the heads and the hands” of school leaders, to understand what they value and what they believe (the heart), how they read the reality (the head) and their way of behaving (the hands).
