Abstract(s)
O presente relatório apresenta o trabalho desenvolvido ao longo de um estágio que decorreu entre setembro de 2017 e maio de 2018 num centro de dia de uma Instituição Particular de Solidariedade Social, no âmbito do Mestrado em Gerontologia Social.
As mudanças demográficas exigem alterações na sociedade nomeadamente em relação ao papel do idoso, sendo que os trabalhadores sociais especialmente os que se dedicam e aprofundam a área da gerontologia, devem contribuir para a criação de condições e estratégias que permitam ao idoso participar de uma forma mais ativa na sociedade e conseguir assim um envelhecimento ativo.
Desta forma, mobilizando a metodologia de investigação-ação participativa foi possível envolver em simultâneo no processo de diagnóstico socioinstitucional e de produção de mudanças da realidade o investigador e os agentes sociais. A participação ativa de todos os intervenientes do processo permite conhecer de forma aprofundada a realidade e assim identificar as necessidades e os problemas que suscitaram a construção de um projeto de intervenção.
Assim sendo, trata-se de uma proposta de intervenção em que os protagonistas da intervenção foram sobretudo as pessoas idosas tendo como finalidade promover um envelhecimento ativo e contribuir para um aperfeiçoamento institucional. Desta forma, numa fase inicial pretendeu-se conhecer os gostos, interesses e necessidade dos idosos através da construção e aprofundamento dos diagnósticos das pessoas idosas de maneira a dinamizar atividades que os tornassem mais ativos e dinâmicos, proporcionando-lhes uma melhoria na sua qualidade de vida e bem-estar. Partindo então dos interesses e necessidades sentidas foram planeadas sessões que através da animação e da educação estimulassem os idosos a nível cognitivo e físico, que valorizassem saberes, proporcionassem novas aprendizagens, promovessem a participação cívica e a interação e integração social, desenvolvendo assim todas as suas dimensões.
The following report presents the work developed during an internship that took place between September 2017 and May 2018 in a private adult day care institution, within the Social Gerontology master’s degree scope. Demographic changes require society changes, with special attention to the role of the elderly. Social workers, especially the ones who work and study the gerontology field, should contribute to the creation of new strategies that allow the elderly to actively participate in the society and achieve an active ageing. In order to simultaneously involve the researcher and social agents in the social-institutional diagnose process, a participatory action research methodology was used in this investigation. The active participation of all the agents in this process allowed a deep understanding of the reality as well as identifying all the needs and problems of the elderly, ultimately leading to the construction of this interventive project. Therefore, the purpose of this interventive proposal is promoting the active ageing of the elderly and contributing to the institutional development. Starting by understanding the desires, interests and needs of the elderly, we were able to create stimulating activities that contributed for a more active and dynamic lifestyle, therefore improving their life quality and well-being. After completing an initial review, multiple activities were planned and executed in order to stimulate the elderly cognitively and physically, valuing the acquisition of new knowledge, promoting the civic and social interaction.
