Abstract(s)
Dessa forma, a presente
Collage is a practice present in society for hundreds of years. Since the 20th century, with the emergence of avant-garde artistic movements in Europe, it began to occupy an expressive space in the art world, which provided a new form of language and expression not only throughout the century, but also in contemporary times. Thus, the present investigation seeks to analyze the role of collage as an artistic practice and a mechanism for the formation of discourse beyond its materiality. Thus, this dissertation seeks to understand how collage, and the main concepts that constitute it, are directly related to the great social paradigms from Modernity to Hypercontemporaneity from the point of view of relevant authors in the fields of Sociology and Philosophy. In addition, different media are approached, such as photography and cinema, in order to establish a direct connection between them and the principles of collage. The presence of collage in the perspective of Visual Culture is also analyzed, based on the analysis of concepts such as image and visuality. Finally, examples of the expansion and popularization of collage are presented that support the research, and help to validate the relevance of collage not only as an artistic practice, but as a communication instrument and tool of contemporary Visual Culture.
