The present research project report presents a study developed in two distinct educational contexts, nursery and kindergarten, focusing on the theme of contact with nature both inside and outside the classroom within the context of early childhood education.Through observation and listening to the children´s interests, interventions were planned and implemented to enhance the exploration of natural spaces and natural materials. In this regard, I defined the research question: “How to enhance the exploration of natural spaces and natural materials in early childhood education?”. The research followed a qualitative approach, supported by the action research methodology. The information collection and processing procedures employed included observations, field notes, multimedia records, documentary research, interview surveys, and content analysis. During the internship, I observed different realities, which reinforced the importance of adapting strategies promoting contact with nature to the specificities of each context. Through the interventions, it was possible to understand the potential of contact with nature in early childhood education and the ways to integrate it into different educational contexts. This study highlighted that contact with nature promotes children´s sensory, motor, social, emotional, and cognitive development, emphasizing the role of early childhood educators in promoting experiences that value and integrate nature into the educational environment.
