Comunicação com a família da pessoa em situação paliativa : Intervenção de enfermagem

A pessoa e família da pessoa em situação paliativa têm necessidades específicas, as quais apenas se conseguem identificar, adequadamente, quando o cuidado é centrado na pessoa. A comunicação em CP é um elemento fulcral para a identificação destas necessidades, sendo por isso, um pilar dos CP e a base do Cuidar em Enfermagem. Sendo já identificada por mim, a comunicação com a família da pessoa em situação paliativa, como uma necessidade de aprendizagem, escolhi este tema para desenvolver num projeto de formação. O presente Relatório, que se insere no âmbito do 1º Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica, na área da Pessoa em Situação Paliativa, espelha o percurso feito em dois locais de estágio: Unidade de Internamento de CP e EIHSCP. Segue a Metodologia de Trabalho por Projeto e teve o propósito de desenvolver competências de mestre e competências para o cuidado especializado à pessoa em situação paliativa e família. Para tal, recorreu-se à pesquisa bibliográfica, à elaboração de um documento de apoio à prática sobre o tema em estudo, à realização de um protocolo scoping review, à observação da prática, à prestação de cuidados, com foco nas necessidades da família e nas estratégias de comunicação utilizadas, à discussão com a equipa multidisciplinar, à reflexão sobre algumas situações de aprendizagem e à realização de sessões de formação e de partilha de conhecimentos. Considero que neste percurso foi possível desenvolver competências de enfermeiro especialista e de mestre, encontrando-se evidenciado neste Relatório os resultados obtidos. Ao perspetivar o futuro, pretendo continuar a aprofundar conhecimentos relativos a este tema, realizando um projeto de sensibilização e formação interdisciplinar, no serviço onde exerço funções, mas sinto-me também aliciada a poder vir a desenvolver competências, diretamente, na área dos CP.
The person and family of the person in a palliative situation have specific needs, which can only be properly identified when care is person-centered. Communication in PC is a key element in identifying these needs and is therefore a pillar of PC and the basis of Nursing Care. Since I had already identified communication with the palliative care patient's family as a learning need, I chose this topic to develop in a training project. This report, which is part of the 1st master’s degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing, in the area of Palliative Care, reflects the journey made in two internship sites: a Palliative Care Unit and an Intra-Hospital Palliative Care Support Team. It follows the Project Work Methodology and aims to contribute to the development of master's skills and specialized care for palliative care patients and their families. To do this, we used bibliographical research, the preparation of a practice support document on the subject under study, a scoping review protocol, observation of practice, the provision of care, focusing on the needs of the family and the communication strategies used, discussion with the multidisciplinary team, reflection on some learning situations and training and knowledge-sharing sessions. I believe that this journey has enabled me to develop the skills of a specialist nurse and a master, and the results obtained are shown in this report. Looking to the future, I intend to continue deepening my knowledge of this subject by carrying out an interdisciplinary awareness and training project in the department where I work, but I also feel encouraged to be able to develop skills directly in the PC´s area.
