O presente relatório resulta de uma investigação realizada no âmbito das Uni-dades Curriculares de Prática Educativa do mestrado em Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e de Português e História e Geografia de Portugal no 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico.
O trabalho incide sobre o tema das fontes históricas e a sua utilização nas aulas de História e Geografia de Portugal. Começa-se por relatar intervenções pedagógicas no 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico relacionadas com o tema e, de seguida, apresenta-se a investigação desenvolvida com docentes de História e Geografia de Portugal. O projeto de investigação partiu de uma questão problema: qual o entendimento dos/as professores/as sobre a utilização de fontes históricas nas aulas de História e Geografia de Portugal?
O relatório encontra-se organizado em quatro capítulos que incidem na intervenção pedagógica, no enquadramento teórico, nos aspetos metodológicos e na apresentação e discussão dos resultados.
Globalmente, percebe-se que os docentes recorrem frequentemente às fontes históricas, entendendo que estas são a base da ciência histórica, uma evidência dos factos históricos e um meio que facilita a aquisição de conhecimentos e competências. Ainda assim, apontam-se diferenças nas fontes históricas mais utilizadas, nos objetivos desta utilização e nas estratégias mobilizadas.
This report is the result of research carried out as part of the Educational Prac-tice curricular units of the master's degree programme in Teaching the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and Portuguese and History and Geography of Portugal in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. Thise work focuses on the theme of historical sources and their use in Portuguese History and Geography lessons. Firstly, this work reports on pedagogical interventions in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education related to thise topic and, following, it presents the research car-ried out with teachers of History and Geography of Portugal. Thise research project started with a question: what is the teachers' understanding of the use of historical sources in Portuguese History and Geography lessons? Thise report is organised into four chapters that focus on the pedagogical intervention, the theoretical framework, the methodological aspects and the presentation and discus-sion of the results. Overall, the teachers make frequent use of historical sources, understanding that these are the basis of historical science, evidence of historical facts and a way of facilitating the acquisition of knowledge and skills. Even so, differences were found in the most used his-torical sources, the objectives of their use and the chosen strategies.
