Os intérpretes de Língua Gestual Portuguesa (ILGP) recorrem frequentemente a estratégias de adaptação do texto de partida (TP) musicado para o texto de chegada (TC) em Língua Gestual Portuguesa (LGP), mas com o intuito de transparecer o modo performativo que está envolvido na interpretação em contextos artísticos. Neste artigo, pretende-se analisar as estratégias utilizadas pelos ILGP, tendo em conta a expressividade desta língua e que, nesta situação em concreto, procura transmitir os diferentes estilos e traços linguístico-culturais existentes numa canção com esta diversidade. Para tal análise, a música escolhida foi a My Love, de Belarmino, interpretada em Língua Gestual Portuguesa por dois intérpretes de LGP, no âmbito de um projeto criado por estes profissionais – os MusicSign – e cuja atuação se evidencia na interpretação de músicas, destacando-se pela performance musico-gestual inédita e magnética. O resultado final pode ser consultado no canal dos MuscSign no YouTube.
Portuguese Sign Language Interpreters (PSLI) often adopt different strategies to adapt the musical source text (ST) into a target text (TT) in Portuguese Sign Language (PSL), but aiming to maintain the performance manner involved in artistic contexts interpretation. This paper has the goal of reviewing PSLI strategies, centered on PSL expression issues, that, in this particular situation, are related with the ways used to convey different styles and linguistic-cultural features of a complex cultural song. The study will focus on music My Love, sang by Belarmino, and interpreted into Portuguese Sign Language by two PSL interpreters within the scope of a project created by these professionals, named MusicSign. Their action is strongly highlighted on music interpreting, by their unique and magnetic performance in signed musics. The ultimate result can be seen on YouTube’s MusicSign channel.
