Abstract(s)
This research, developed as part of the final project of Master in Design Management, has as its ultimate objective the proposal of a solution based on shared economy to develop a sustainable business model that aims to increase the useful life of garments in order to stimulate conscious consumption and promote sustainability in the fashion sector. For the development of the proposed model, this investigation sought, through qualitative and quantitative methods such as documentary research, questionnaire and case study, to verify the understanding of sustainable consumption and the purchase and use behavior of clothes, shoes and accessories by consumers and analyze business models that use the shared economy, checking their strengths and weaknesses. At the end of the research process it was possible to infer that most consumers have basic concepts and are concerned with sustainable consumption, although they still adopt few practices to ensure sustainability in the context of fashion in their daily lives. It is also inferred that consumers are aware of the importance of sustainability, but need practical incentives that do not entail extra costs to adopt sustainable measures. In addition to the project presented in this research work, its aim is to be implemented in a real context, keeping alive the objectives associated with sustainability and improving the quality of life for the next generations.
