Abstract(s)
In 2020, the World Health Organization declared a pandemic state due to the existence of a disease caused by the SAR-CoV-2 virus. Many countries were forced to implement measures of vírus containment while the scientific community tried to produce a vaccine effective to counter the COVID19. Social Isolation was one of the primary adopted measures, however it had an impact onl health of the population. This study aims to clarify the effect of this phenomenon on the practice of Physical Activity (PA) and Well-Being (WB) in order to optimize and elaborate strategies suited to promote physical and mental health in the military. Three different periods were analyzed: before, after and during confinement. Interviews and inquiries were made to the Portuguese Air Force. Two instruments previously validated for the Portuguese population: one for the PA (HPAQ-SF) and WB (MHC-SF) were used. This study collected a total of 529 inquiries and 11 interviews. From the collected data, the average PA decreased during confinement, compared with the other periods; PA decreased in all age groups but the younger one (up to 29), which intensified PA in the post-confinement period. A difference between genders was observed. Women had an increase in PA. During confinement, there was a connection between WP and PA.
