Este texto procura contribuir para a compreensão do processo de
profissionalização da gestão de recursos humanos em Portugal, através da discussão do
papel desempenhado pela respectiva associação profissional. Partindo
fundamentalmente de dados estatísticos oficiais e da análise de conteúdo de entrevistas
realizadas a responsáveis pela associação representativa do campo profissional da
gestão de recursos humanos (APG) e a directores de recursos humanos, os resultados
obtidos dão conta não só de alguns mecanismos de representação dos associados nos
órgãos de direcção, mas também de algumas das contradições que atravessam a
estratégia da Associação na reivindicação da exclusividade do mandato profissional.
This paper seeks to contribute to the understanding of the processo f professionalization of human resource management in Portugal, through the discussion of the role played by the peofessional Association. Based on official statistics and content analysis of interviews held to responsible for the association representing the professional field of human resource management (APG) and to human resource directors, the results show some mechanisms associated to the distribution of the management places inside the Association among there members. They also show some of the contradictions of the Association strategy in the claim for the exclusivity of professional mandate.
