Abstract(s)
Este relatório apresenta uma investigação realizada no âmbito da
prática pedagógica de formação inicial de professores. O estudo tem como
objetivo compreender o desenvolvimento da comunicação matemática de
alunos do 4.º ano no decurso de uma investigação estatística. Trata-se de
um estudo estatístico realizado ao longo de várias sessões com os alunos a
tomarem diversas decisões, tornando-os agentes ativos da sua
aprendizagem.
A metodologia adotada é de natureza qualitativa, recorrendo à
observação participante, com registo áudio, e à recolha documental.
Os resultados obtidos evidenciam que, de um modo geral, os alunos
foram bem-sucedidos na realização da investigação estatística e na
comunicação de ideias. Ainda assim, existiram algumas dificuldades
relacionadas com a discussão e expressão de ideias, especialmente, no
âmbito da comunicação escrita. No entanto, ao longo da intervenção
observaram-se melhorias nas práticas de comunicação oral e escrita dos
alunos, ainda que, por vezes, com justificações pouco detalhadas. O estudo
também revela dificuldades dos alunos na formulação de questões
estatísticas, na organização e interpretação de dados, mas ao mesmo tempo
evidencia a capacidade em mobilizar conceitos estatísticos e em relacionálos com aspetos do quotidiano.
O estudo permite inferir que a investigação estatística contribuiu para
o desenvolvimento da comunicação matemática, promovendo a autonomia
e a argumentação dos alunos.
This report presents an investigation carried out within the scope of the pedagogical practice of initial teacher training. The study aims to understand the development of mathematical communication of 4 th grade students during a statistical investigation. The statistical study was carried out over a group of sessions where students made several decisions, making them active agents in their learning. The methodology adopted was qualitative, using participant observation with audio recording and the documentary collection. The results show that, overall, the students were successful in the statistical investigation and in communicating ideas. Even so there were difficulties related to the expression and discussion of ideas, especially in written communication. However, throughout the process, there was an improvement with students developing greater clarity in oral and written communication, although, sometimes, with little detailed justifications. The study also revealed difficulties in formulating questions, organising, and interpreting data, but also showed the students' ability to mobilise basic statistical concepts and relate them to everyday issues. This study concludes that statistical investigations was effective in developing mathematical communication, promoting students' autonomy and argumentation.
