Práticas seguras na utilização da medicação em enfermagem de saúde infantil e pediátrica

As boas práticas e a segurança do doente são um tema que tem suscitado interesse por
parte de várias organizações em todo o mundo. Em Portugal, a Direção Geral de Saúde
desenvolveu o Plano Nacional para a Segurança dos Doentes 2015-2020. Uma das
consequências das más práticas na utilização da medicação é o erro terapêutico, que é
mais grave e mais frequente em Pediatria.
Foi desenvolvido um projeto de estágio, utilizando a metodologia de trabalho de
projeto, que foi aplicado em todos os locais de estágio, desde os cuidados de saúde
primários até aos cuidados hospitalares, cujo objetivo foi aumentar a segurança na
utilização da medicação em Pediatria. Através da elaboração do projeto procurou-se
sensibilizar tanto as equipas de enfermagem bem como os pais/cuidadores da população em idade pediátrica para adquirirem e desenvolverem boas práticas na utilização segura da medicação em pediatria.

In Portugal, the General Administration of Health developed the National Plan for Patient Safety 2015-2020. One of the consequences of poor practices in the use of medication is therapeutic error, which is more serious and more frequent in Pediatrics. An internship project was developed, using the project work methodology, which was applied to all internship locations, from primary health care to hospital care, with the objective of increasing safety in the use of medication in Pediatrics. Through the development of the project, we sough to raise awareness among both nursing teams and parents/caregivers of the pediatric population to acquire and develop good practices in the safe use of medication in Pediatrics.
