Abstract(s)
Objetivos: Medir as alterações teciduais no lábio branco e vermelho após realizar peeling de fenol tamponado com máscara oclusiva, população de pacientes da Clínica Dentária Universitária Egas Moniz.
Materiais e métodos: 6 pacientes do sexo feminino foram submetidas ao tratamento de peeling de fenol, foram tiradas fotografias extra-orais padronizadas anteriormente e um mês após o procedimento e, em simultâneo, feitas medições em 3 pontos no lábio branco e medição do lábio vermelho.
Resultados: Houve uma diferença estatisticamente significativa face às medições iniciais com as finais do lábio branco (t= 7.50; p<0.001) e do lábio vermelho (Z=-2.232, p=0.026).
Conclusões: O peeling de fenol mostrou ter a capacidade de retrair os tecidos no lábio branco e de aumentar o lábio vermelho. Sendo imperativo refazer a investigação com uma amostra maior.

Materials and methods: 6 female patients were submitted to a phenol peeling, standardized extra oral pictures were taken before and one month after the procedure. Simultaneously, measurements were taken at three points on the upper lip and on the red lip. Results: There was a statistically significant difference between the initial and final measurements of the upper lip (t=7.50; p<0.001) and the red lip (Z=-2.232, p=0.026). Conclusions: Phenol peel demonstrated the ability to contract tissues in the white lip and increase the red lip. It is imperative to conduct further research with a larger sample.
