Abstract(s)
As aprendizagens
The main objective of this report is to describe the academic path carried out and to expose the reflection on current practices, at a theoretical and practical level. Regarding the care provided within the chosen theme, non-pharmacological pain strategies, seeking their continuous improvement, based on scientific evidence. This need arises from seeking to reduce or eliminate discomfort and pain in the pediatric population, through autonomous nursing interventions, since in daily clinical practice these are still an inherent reality. Basing this approach on Kolcaba's theory of comfort, on Anne Casey's care partnership model and on the atraumatic care model, I tried to privilege pain assessment and the use of non- pharmacological strategies, presenting a descriptive analysis of the activities developed throughout of the various internship contexts, defined with the project methodology, exposing, in this way, the response given to the initial objectives. The learning described, not only at an academic level, but also at a professional and personal level, allowed the development of skills common to specialist nurses, as well as those specific to specialist nurses in child and pediatric health, as well as the skills of a master's degree in nursing in this same field.
