O presente relatório de estágio foi elaborado no âmbito da unidade curricular “Estágio de
Natureza Profissional com Relatório – Módulo II”, integrante do plano de estudos do Mestrado
em Enfermagem de Reabilitação da Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto. Este relatório
resulta de um projeto individual desenvolvido no Módulo I e constitui-se como produto de um
processo de formação avançada em Enfermagem de Reabilitação, sustentado por uma
aprendizagem de natureza reflexiva, realizada nos diversos contextos clínicos onde os estágios
decorreram.
Conforme definido previamente, o presente relatório expõe o percurso no sentido de atingir três
objetivos: I) Desenvolver competências comuns do enfermeiro especialista, II) Desenvolver as
competências específicas do enfermeiro especialista em enfermagem de reabilitação e III)
Desenvolver as competências especializadas para a tomada de decisão clínica de enfermagem
de reabilitação no domínio do equilíbrio.
O equilíbrio é uma competência motora essencial à autonomia funcional, cuja integridade
depende da interação entre os sistemas visual, vestibular e somatossensorial, mediada por
mecanismos neuromusculares finos. A artrodese lombar nos níveis L3-L5, realizada no caso
clínico selecionado, é uma cirurgia frequentemente indicada para estabilizar a coluna em casos
de patologia degenerativa, espondilolistese ou instabilidade segmentar. O compromisso do
equilíbrio emerge, assim, como uma consequência previsível, exigindo uma abordagem
terapêutica centrada na promoção da estabilidade postural e da marcha segura, sobretudo em
pessoas idosas ou com histórico de limitações neuromusculares.
Assim, neste relatório, numa primeira fase, procede-se à caracterização dos contextos clínicos
onde decorreram os estágios. Posteriormente, é apresentado um estudo de caso que visa
demonstrar a conceção de cuidados do enfermeiro especialista em enfermagem de reabilitação
à pessoa com compromisso do equilíbrio internada em contexto hospitalar, tendo como base o
processo de enfermagem e sustentado nos modelos e teorias da disciplina. Seguidamente,
procede-se à explanação do desenvolvimento das competências comuns e específicas do
enfermeiro especialista em enfermagem de reabilitação, sendo que, no âmbito destas últimas,
se destaca o contributo junto da pessoa com compromisso no equilíbrio, internada em ambiente
hospitalar. Este contributo foi sistematizado na forma de um programa de enfermagem de
reabilitação. Por fim, é apresentada a síntese final do relatório.
This internship report was prepared within the scope of the curricular unit “Estágio de Natureza Profissional com Relatório – Módulo II”, part of the study plan of the Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Nursing at the Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto. This report results from an individual project developed in Module I and constitutes the product of an advanced training process in Rehabilitation Nursing, grounded in reflective learning carried out across the various clinical contexts in which the internships took place. As previously defined, this report presents the journey toward achieving three objectives: I) Developing the core competencies of the specialist nurse, II) Developing the specific competencies of the rehabilitation nursing specialist, and III) Developing advanced competencies for clinical decision-making in rehabilitation nursing, specifically in the domain of balance. Balance is a motor skill essential to functional autonomy, whose integrity depends on the interaction between the visual, vestibular, and somatosensory systems, mediated by fine neuromuscular mechanisms. Lumbar arthrodesis at levels L3-L5, as performed in the selected clinical case, is a surgical procedure often indicated to stabilize the spine in cases of degenerative pathology, spondylolisthesis, or segmental instability. Impaired balance is therefore a predictable outcome, requiring a therapeutic approach focused on promoting postural stability and safe ambulation, especially in older adults or individuals with a history of neuromuscular limitations. Thus, this report begins with a description of the clinical contexts in which the internships took place. It is followed by a case study that aims to demonstrate the care approach of the rehabilitation nursing specialist to a hospitalized person with balance impairment, based on the nursing process and supported by nursing models and theories. Subsequently, the development of both the core and specific competencies of the rehabilitation nursing specialist is detailed, with particular emphasis on the contribution made to individuals with impaired balance in a hospital setting. This contribution is structured as a rehabilitation nursing program. Finally, the report concludes with a final synthesis.
