Abstract(s)
Given the ever-evolving nature of the market, it is imperative to assess whether companies are making the right decisions to ensure their performance remains substantial, thereby achieving compliance with established objectives and securing their position in the current market. This research revolves around an intervention within a Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) operating in the national and international heavy cargo transport sector, specifically Transforcada S.A. The study aims to investigate and present an empirical theory for enhancing the entity's performance. This enhancement focuses primarily on optimizing existing knowledge management practices, encompassing three critical dimensions: processes, technologies, individuals, and their respective capabilities. The literature review played a pivotal role in identifying the characteristics of the company under examination, as well as gaining profound insights into the concepts, functions, and capacities that underpin the necessary Know-how for advancing the research. The collection of pertinent information unearthed existing gaps, underscoring the paramount importance of this study. The research methodology adheres to an empirically grounded approach, employing a Case Study framework. Qualitative research methodologies were systematically applied in a twophase exploration. Phase 1 centred on the literature review, while Phase 2 featured semi-in-depth interviews with the entity's stakeholders. These interviews utilized the laddering method and the Hierarchical Value Map technique. Upon a comprehensive analysis of the results, it becomes conspicuously clear that the entity employs a knowledge management typology that hinders its ability to recognize contemporary, pivotal, and innovative facets encompassing three pivotal elements: processes, technology, stakeholders, and their respective capacities. Consequently, this obstructs the entity's capacity to evolve efficiently and effectively.
