A questão desta investigação assenta no entendimento das características do fenómeno terrorista que pode ser uma ameaça para Angola. Uma vez que os esforços no combate ao terrorismo ao nível do continente africano se fazem sentir cada vez mais em resposta ao crescimento do fenómeno em África, materializado através da presença de diversos grupos terroristas e as suas respetivas ações, surge a necessidade de perceber se o combate ao fenómeno terrorista deve, ou não, constituir uma prioridade no planeamento da segurança em Angola. Procuramos entender a perspetiva sobre a qual os arquitetos da segurança em Angola interpretam o fenómeno terrorista, qual a tipologia dos potenciais alvos de uma hipotética ação terrorista em Angola, e ainda analisar o alcance dos instrumentos legais existentes que visam fazer face à ameaça.
The purpose of our investigation rests on the understanding of the characteristics of the terrorist phenomenon that can be a threat to Angola. As efforts to combat terrorism on the African continent are increasingly felt, in response to the growth of the phenomenon in Africa, through the presence of various terrorist groups and their actions, there is a need to understand if the terrorist phenomenon should be a priority in Angola's security planning. We seek to understand how security architects in Angola perceive the terrorist phenomenon, the typology of the potential targets of a hypothetical terrorist action in Angola, and also to analyze the scope of existing legal instruments to deal with the threat.
