| dc.description.abstract | O presente estudo, intitulado “Espaços exteriores como contextos educativos: implicação, bem-estar e comportamento social no Jardim de Infância”, teve como objetivo compreender de que forma as características do espaço exterior condicionam e potenciam capacidades de exploração pelas crianças, atendendo ao nível de implicação e ao comportamento social das crianças. Optou-se por uma investigação de metodologia qualitativa, recorrendo à técnica de observação direta e diferentes instrumentos de recolha de dados, entre os quais a observação direta, as notas de campo, os registos fotográficos e audiovisuais. Através da análise sistemática destas fontes, foi possível identificar padrões de exploração em diferentes contextos e relacioná-los com os níveis de implicação, bem-estar e comportamento social demonstrados pelas crianças. Os resultados evidenciam que determinados aspetos do espaço exterior, como a diversidade de estímulos, a organização do ambiente e a possibilidade de interação social, exercem influência no envolvimento e na qualidade das experiências vividas, apesar das limitações reconhecidas. | dc.description.abstract | The present study, entitled “Outdoor spaces as educational contexts: engagement, well-being, and social behavior in kindergarten”, aimed to understand how the characteristics of outdoor space condition and enhance children’s exploration capacities, considering the level of involvement and the social behaviour of the children. A qualitative research methodology was adopted, using the technique of direct observation and different data collection instruments, including direct observation, field notes, photographic records and audiovisual recordings. Through the systematic analysis of these sources, it was possible to identify patterns of exploration in different contexts and relate them to the levels of involvement, well-being and social behaviour demonstrated by the children. The results show that certain aspects of the outdoor space, such as the diversity of stimuli, the organisation of the environment and the possibility of social interaction, influence the level of engagement and the quality of the experiences lived, despite the recognised limitations. This study reinforces the importance of creating rich, accessible and challenging outdoor environments that promote active participation and autonomous exploration, contributing to the overall development of children. | eng |
