Abstract(s)
Integra diagnĂłsticos precisos, intervençÔes terapĂȘuticas eficazes e estratĂ©gias educativas ao enfatizar a remoção eficiente do biofilme e a educação contĂnua do paciente.
Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) is a modern and systematic approach in dentistry, focused on the effective management of bacterial biofilm, the main cause of periodontal and peri-implant diseases. This protocol combines accurate diagnoses, effective treatments, and educational strategies to promote comprehensive and preventive oral health. GBT begins with a detailed assessment of the patient's oral health, using biofilm developers and advanced imaging tools to identify areas of biofilm buildup. Biofilm development is crucial for visualization of the affected areas, facilitating diagnosis and patient education. Informing and motivating patients about the importance of oral hygiene and regular biofilm removal is essential to ensure adherence to treatment and preventive maintenance. A core component of GBT is the use of cleaning agents such as glycine powder or erythritol, applied with air polishing devices, such as AIRFLOWÂź, PERIOFLOWÂź e PIEZONÂź. These agents are effective in removing biofilm and have mild properties that minimize the risk of damage to gum tissues and tooth surfaces. Clinical studies have shown that the use of these powders results in a significant reduction in gingival inflammation and the depth of periodontal pockets, improving patients' overall periodontal health. The GBT protocol also includes prophylaxis and tooth polishing with AIRFLOW PROPHYLAXIS MASTER EMS to smooth the surface of the teeth, biofilm removal and prevent bacterial recolonization. Additionally, prophylactic pastes containing fluoride can be applied to strengthen tooth enamel. GBT's preventive, minimally invasive approach, a comprehensive protocol stands out for its focus on maintaining long-term oral health. Integrates accurate diagnostics, effective therapeutic interventions and educational strategies By emphasizing efficient biofilm removal and ongoing patient education, GBT significantly contributes to reducing the incidence of periodontal disease. Patient adherence to treatment is improved through a greater understanding of the importance of oral hygiene and regular maintenance. This holistic approach not only improves oral health, but also promotes the prevention of periodontal and peri-implant diseases, making it an essential practice in contemporary dentistry.
