Worldwide, there is an increase in population aging, which is a natural physiological process in which a progressive decline in organic functions is seen, in a heterogeneous way in each person. Falls are one of the events that occur during this process. Falls are currently considered a problem that has been progressively growing, which is why it is essential to identify and assess the risk of falls and implement strategies aimed at preventing them. In Residential Structures for the Elderly (ERPI), formal caregivers play an active role in the safety of elderly people, contributing to improving their quality of life, assisting and supervising elderly people in carrying out their daily life activities. The Health Planning methodology and Nola Pender's Health Promotion Model were used to develop the project. There was a non-probabilistic convenience sample composed of 46 formal caregivers and 5 residential structures for the elderly (ERPI) and 93 elderly people. As data collection instruments, a characterization questionnaire was applied to each ERPI, a questionnaire assessing knowledge and interventions for fall prevention to formal caregivers and the Morse Scale to elderly people. The implementation of the project resulted in risk assessment protocols, awareness-raising sessions on the topic and action protocols in the event of a fall. The development of these health education programs is therefore an added value in training the multidisciplinary team in multiple dimensions, namely in preventing falls.
