| dc.description.abstract | O vocabulário de uma criança é essencial, tanto para a sua vida escolar, como para a sua vida quotidiana, pois o mesmo é a base para o desenvolvimento de atitudes, valores e conhecimento. A literatura para a infância é um recurso importante para a aprendizagem do vocabulário - significado das palavras. A presente investigação recai sobre o desenvolvimento do léxico através da leitura de histórias, incidindo num grupo heterogéneo de vinte e cinco crianças com idades compreendidas entre os três e os cinco anos, num jardim de infância situado no concelho de Lisboa. Esta investigação teve como principal objetivo o desenvolvimento do léxico através da leitura de histórias e através do ensino explícito do vocabulário em jardim de infância. Relativamente à metodologia adotada, aos instrumentos de recolha e análise de dados, recorreu-se a um levantamento de livros, à observação participante de conversas informais, e a um teste de aferição do conhecimento do vocabulário. Recorreu-se à análise do conteúdo das transcrições dassessões de leitura. Observou-se uma progressiva melhoria e efeitos positivos na aquisição do sentido das palavras trabalhadas durante a leitura de histórias. Observou-se ainda, durante a intervenção, interesse por parte do grupo de crianças nas várias sessões de leitura. | dc.description.abstract | A child's vocabulary is essential both for their school life and for their daily life, as it is the basis for the development of attitudes, values, and knowledge. Literature for childhood is an important resource for learning vocabulary - meaning of words. This research focuses on the development of the lexicon through the reading of stories, focusing on a heterogeneous group of twenty-five children aged between three and five years, in a kindergarten located in the municipality of Lisbon. This research had as main objective the development of the lexicon through the reading of stories and through the explicit teaching of vocabulary in preschool and kindergarten. Regarding the methodology adopted, the instruments for data collection and analysis, we used a survey of books, participant observation of informal conversations, and a test to measure vocabulary knowledge. The content of the transcripts of the reading sessions was analyzed. We observed a progressive improvement and positive effects in the acquisition of the meaning of the words worked during the reading of stories. It was also observed, during the intervention, interest on the part of the group of children in the various reading sessions. In sum, this study described how children´s literature can be used to teach vocabular explicitly, through the explanation of new words, and contribute to children´s acquisition of vocabulary. | pt_PT |
