Abstract(s)
Abstract The present work is subordinate to the subject: The Integration of Women in GNR." Given that this subject is very including, it had been decided to study some aspects related with it. This way, the following problem was formulated: "Which were the motivations that were in the base of the women's decision of going to GNR? Will it be that the expectations they had in the moment of the entrance were accomplished? And will it be any relationship between the accomplishment of those expectations and the satisfaction of the military women? In relation to the Officers, will it be that they pass through difficulties added by the fact of being women and to perform the command/leadership? Will it be that the PSP Officers feel the same difficulties? Which were the strategies adopted by the Officers to overcome their difficulties? To analyse this problem, the work was structured in two main parts: the theoreticalconceptual part and the work field part, both with four chapters. The methodology was based on the documental analysis, and with the intention of collecting the data, were made an inquiry and semi directed interviews. To process the results it was used the content analysis technique. After the data process, it had been concluded that the motivations mentioned by the military of all the ranks that took them to going to GNR were the pleasure for the military and police life, the useful service to the community and the innovation. The military women are satisfied in their professional life because they have not accomplished their expectations yet. The difficulties felt by the GNR Officers are similar to the difficulties of the PSP Officers, although this institution has female Officers (in the organization) for a long time. All the interviewed Officers adopt different strategies to face their difficulties. The work was done between May and July 2008.
