Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação teve como objetivo analisar o impacto do autismo na dinâmica familiar, com especial enfoque nos desafios emocionais, sociais e práticos enfrentados pelas famílias com crianças com Perturbação do Espectro do Autismo (PEA). Para esse efeito, foi aplicado um questionário a 92 cuidadores principais, com recurso à Escala de Impacto Familiar – Versão Reduzida, no âmbito de uma metodologia quantitativa e descritiva. Os resultados evidenciam níveis elevados de stress parental, sobrecarga emocional e dificuldades financeiras. O estudo destaca ainda a importância de estratégias de adaptação eficazes, apoio social e intervenções ajustadas às necessidades das famílias. Conclui-se que compreender os impactos do autismo nas famílias é essencial para promover políticas e práticas que melhorem a qualidade de vida familiar.

The results reveal high levels of parental stress, emotional overload, and financial difficulties. The study also emphasizes the importance of effective coping strategies, social support, and tailored interventions for families. It concludes that understanding the impact of autism on families is essential for promoting policies and practices that enhance family quality of life.
