A crise económica que ocorreu em Portugal no início desta década, criou uma situação sem precedentes no nosso País, tendo o desemprego atingido níveis nunca alcançados e o número de falências e insolvências de empresas registado um crescimento desmesurado. Uma das maiores consequências desta turbulência, que afetou as organizações, foi a necessidade de flexibilização da força de trabalho que levou a um aumento contratos atípicos, onde se destacam os trabalhadores temporários.
O presente estudo assenta na seguinte pergunta de partida: Qual a caracterização dos trabalhadores temporários que estão a ser solicitados pelas empresas industriais na Península de Setúbal?
Pretende-se, assim, identificar e caraterizar quais as competências e que perfis de trabalhadores temporários estão a ser solicitados pelas empresas industriais, na Península de Setúbal, no sector da metalomecânica, bem como analisar que tipo de regimes de trabalho estão a ser oferecidos.
Metodologicamente, realizou-se um estudo multi-caso em sete empresas de trabalho temporário presentes na Península de Setúbal, tendo-se utilizado preferencialmente a técnica de entrevista para a recolha de informação de modo a dar resposta aos objetivos do estudo.
Os resultados indicam-nos que existe uma alteração no perfil dos trabalhadores temporários, fruto da evolução do mercado de trabalho, bem como o aumento da flexibilização pelas empresas da sua força de trabalho, tirando inúmeras vantagens da utilização de trabalho temporário.
Paralelamente, verifica-se a tendência para um aumento da flexibilização da força de trabalho nas empresas, que tem levado a uma alteração das relações laborais com a cada vez maior utilização do trabalho temporário. Igualmente se concluiu que o trabalho temporário está a servir de porta de entrada no mercado de trabalho.
The economic crisis that occurred in Portugal at the beginning of this decade created an unprecedented situation in our country, with unemployment reaching levels never reached and the number of bankruptcies and insolvencies of companies registered an unreasonable growth. One of the biggest consequences of this turmoil, which affected as activities, was the flexibilization of the workforce that led to an increase in atypical contracts, which highlighted temporary workers The present study is based on the following starting question: What are the main skills of temporary workers being sought by industrial companies in the Setúbal Peninsula? It thus aims to identify and characterize which skills and profiles of temporary agency workers are being requested by industrial companies in the Setúbal Peninsula in the metalworking sector, as well as to analyze what type of contracts are being offered. Methodologically a multicase study was conducted in seven temporary employment agencies located in the Setúbal Peninsula, having preferably used the interview technique to gather information in order to meet the objectives of the study. The results indicate that there is a change in the profile of temporary workers, as a result of the evolution of the labor market, as well as an increase in the flexibility of companies of their workforce, taking many advantages of the use of temporary work. At the same time, there is a tendency towards increased workforce flexibility in organizations, which has led to a change in labor relations with the increasing use of temporary work. It was also concluded that temporary work can be a gateway to the labor market.
