Abstract(s)
Franchising is configured as a guaranteed business system that has grown to the point where it is now considered one of the most developed strategic forms of business in the world, very common in areas such as catering, distribution, and some services, without areas of greater complexity, such as health in general and pediatric rehabilitation (Varotto & Silva, 2017). With the increase in the birth rate, the survival of children with neurodevelopmental problems, and the consequent need both for an increasingly early and intensive intervention, and for equitable access to differentiated pediatric rehabilitation care, emerges as a problem Pressing and difficult to resolve. To what extent is franchising health services to manage access to pediatric care and rehabilitation relevant? It is above all to this great question that the present investigation intends to answer, seeking to analyze and understand the equity in the access of Portuguese children to pediatric health services, through health franchising solutions. In this sense, a normally qualitative methodology was used, which included, as data collection, q the performance of 15 semi-structured interviews with parents of children with developmental delay, franchising professionals and pediatric rehabilitation professionals. The data obtained were treated using the Leximancer software, which allows textual analysis or data mining to be carried out. The results obtained reveal the importance of this strategic form of business, as a means of providing adequate care to children, and approach people - as actors in a health service - in an environment that integrates each child and their family, with health professionals that accompany them.
