Posteriormente, é realizada a
This internship report is part of the course unit "Professional Internship with Report – Module II" in the curriculum of the Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Nursing at the Nursing School of Porto. In this context, this report stems from an individual project developed in the course unit "Professional Internship with Report - Module I" and results from an advanced training process in rehabilitation nursing, based on reflective learning in the various clinical settings where the professional internship took place. Fundamentally, this report demonstrates the transfer of knowledge and the development of both common and specific competencies of the specialist nurse in rehabilitation nursing across different clinical contexts. However, as defined in the internship project, the focus was placed on the theme of individuals with spasticity to demonstrate the contribution of the specialist nurse in rehabilitation nursing. Regarding this specific area, to deepen knowledge and develop skills, the following objectives were defined: to develop specific skills to identify relevant data in individuals with spasticity, to develop specific skills to identify diagnoses in individuals with spasticity, to develop specific skills to implement interventions in individuals with spasticity, and to develop specific skills to evaluate the outcomes of the implemented interventions. Following the guidelines of the course unit, this report first characterizes the clinical settings where the internship took place. Next, a case study is presented to demonstrate the care conception of the specialist nurse in rehabilitation nursing for individuals with spasticity, supported by scientific evidence, disciplinary frameworks, and nursing ontology. Subsequently, a reflection on the development of common and specific competencies of the specialist nurse in rehabilitation nursing is conducted. Finally, a final synthesis of the report is provided.
