Abstract(s)
This research project was performed within the scope of Physical Education (PE), where the principal theme was the student's perception of the importance of Expression and Physical Motor Education (EPME) in the school context. The theoretical reference framework presented addresses the following themes: explanation of PE, the dynamic of teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education teacher of the, the importance of PE since birth, the importance of regular PE, the importance of physical activity in the fight against obesity, PE in teaching learning and pedagogical intervention techniques. This research follows the approach of qualitative investigation and research on practice. Participated in this investigation 19 students from the 3rd and 4th school class year. The pedagogical proposal was based on four planned and performed sessions, considering the Curricular Organization and Programs of Basic Education, Physical Motor, Musical, Dramatic and Plastic Education Expressions, as well as the essential learning for PE in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. Data collection took place over two weeks, between May 20 and May 31 of 2019, corresponding to the curricular internship period. Data was collected through participant observation, questionnaires, and documentary collection. It was concluded that students assume that PEis important for their well-being as well as in comparison with other school disciplines, however in their opinion it should not be mandatory, and with respect to their effort, it would not change if they were to be evaluated or not. The results also showed that the students still indicate that they really enjoy the classes and were very interested and committed during the sessions.
