Abstract(s)
do aeroporto vizinho.
Assim será possível a
escolhido.
With almost 60 years of existence, Tires Aerodrome, now called Cascais Aerodrome, has been suffering several changes throughout the years, nevertheless, in the last 25 years the aerodrome did not have any major change regarding its infrastructure or organizational structure. On the other hand, world and national aviation has been showing a significant growth and, due to Government indecision, passenger demand is higher than our county’s capacity, especially in Lisbon Metropolitan area (Lisbon Airport). These restrictions will open an opportunity window to Cascais Aerodrome. With this, Cascais Aerodrome has a chance to prepare itself for a sustained and well-planned growth, considering its neighbour airport’s exceedance capacity, for example, business and regional aviation traffic. For this to happened, it will need a deep study regarding its capacity and infrastructures. The analysis was carried out through the characterization of the aerodrome in line with the diagnosis of the elements of the air operation in relation to current national and international standards. The results show that the Cascais Aerodrome has real and attractive potential, from an economic and social point of view, despite the need for significant investments in infrastructure. Furthermore, it is recommended to extend the infrastructure analysis to other subsystems of the aerodrome, as well as an in-depth economic analysis. Thus, it will be possible to evaluate proposals aimed at the evolution and suitability of the aerodrome for the chosen objective.
