Abstract(s)
a satisfação do utente.
A amostra apresenta
The patients´ satisfaction with health cares has been referred as one of the factors that might influence the adherence. Thus, the aim of this study is: to determine the level of satisfaction of the patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 with the nursing care; to identify their adherence to the therapeutic regime and to understand the way that this relates itself to the patients’ satisfaction. We develop a cross-sectional study with 212 diabetics of two health centres and a hospital of Oporto area. The sample presents a mean of ages of 62,6 years, is mostly feminine (54.7%), with low literacy qualifications (M=4,0 years), presenting a mean of illness time of 10,8 years. The participants showed more difficulty in adhering to the physical exercise. According to the diet cares we find significantly differences statistics between the sexes (Men M =71,2 DP=19,0; Women M= 77,8 DP=17,4; p<0,01). The youngest diabetics adhere more to the practical physical activity (r = -0,19; p <0,01) and to advised diet (r =-0,23; p <0,01). Indicative mean values of a good satisfaction were found with the nursing consultation. We verify that this variable predicts in 12% the adhesion to the therapeutic regime. These results show the influence that the nursing professionals have in the adherence of the patient to the advised therapeutic regime.
