Abstract(s)
This research report was carried out in internship context, within the scope of the Master's degree in Preschool Education and 1st Cycle of Basic Education Teaching, in class in the 4th year of schooling. The main objective of this research is to understand how the various curricular areas recommended for the 1st Cycle of Basic Education can be articulated and integrated through a project conducted with 4th grade students of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education (CBE). Regarding the theoretical framework, the focus was to understand and differentiate the concept of project, in a global sense, from work methodology by project and performed projects in the curricular and pedagogical model of the Modern School Movement (MSM). This report presents a qualitative research approach, integrated into the research methodology on the practice. Several data was collected throughout the study using participatory observation and documentary analysis, as well as the use of instruments for data collection such as audio and video recording, photographic records and field notes. With the development of the research, it was understood the importance that the project assumes in the learning process of the students, being this a child-centered approach. Through a project, motivation, autonomy, involvement and group work are stimulated, taking into account the likings and preferences of each child. With the construction of a work of this nature, the different curricular areas can be explored in an articulated and integrated way, without a fragmentation of the curriculum.
