O estudo da gestão de conflito organizacional tem vindo a ser um tema de investigação em diversas áreas do saber, embora não se tem verificado o seu desenvolvimento na área a que propomos aplicar. Sabe-se que os gestores constituem a chave para o bom desempenho de qualquer organização, assim sendo, tem sobre a sua responsabilidade uma panóplia de situações que carecem de ser gerido para se atingir o sucesso organizacional uma das quais o conflito. Havendo a predominância de demasiados conflitos sem haver uma resolução eficaz e eficiente, tal sucesso que se pretende seria inacessível. O presente estudo, baseado em métodos qualitativos, visa identificar e analisar a forma como os conflitos surgem na PNSTP, a frequência com que os mesmos ocorrem, perceber se os Oficiais da PNSTP enquanto gestores de pessoas estão preparados para lidar com este tipo de situações. Para tal, realizou-se um estudo de caso na PNSTP, onde participaram 18 Oficiais de polícia.

It is known that managers are the key for a good performance of any organization, therefore they have on their responsibility a range of situations that need to be managed to achieve organizational success, one of which is the conflict. If there are too many conflicts without an effective and efficient resolution, the success that is intended would be inaccessible. This study based on qualitative methods, aims to identify and analyze how conflicts arise in PNSTP, the frequency in which they occur and realize if the PNSTP officials as managers of people are prepared to handle this type of situations. To this end, we carried out a case study in PNSTP, attended by 18 police officers.
