Abstract(s)
pessoas promovendo a evolução pessoal e profissional do mentorado.
Formal mentoring is characterized as a development process, supported by a structured relationship developed by the organization between two people promoting the personal and professional evolution of the mentee. This relationship has been increasingly used by organizations, due to the various benefits it provides not only to employees, but also to organizations. The present study, carried out within the scope of the Master in Naval Military Sciences, Navy specialty, in the academic year 2021/2022, intended to analyze the potential for expanding the Mentoring Program for the Contract Regime, currently in force in the Portuguese Navy, to permanent military personnel. Ten semi-structured interviews were carried out with mentors and officers who play/ have played roles in the functional area of Personnel, having identified the essential aspects of the expansion of the PMRC to different categories of military personnel and different forms of service provision with benefits not only for the mentees, but also for the mentors and the organization. As a product for the organization, a formal mentoring program divided into three strands was proposed to improve retention in the organization by improving people management policies. The program is divided into mentoring for adaptation and integration in the organization, adaptation and integration in new units and mentoring for career management/talent management, it has additionally the criteria for the selection of mentors and mentees, the trainings that the mentors must attend, the phases of the program and its follow-up/evaluation method.
