Este relatório, pretende transmitir uma descrição e reflexão sobre o percurso ao longo do estágio realizado, onde foi implementado um projeto de desenvolvimento de competências clínicas especializadas na área de enfermagem de saúde mental e psiquiátrica, com o objetivo de diminuir o autoestigma na população com doença mental. Ao longo do relatório, está também espelhado o desenvolvimento das competências do EESMP.
A metodologia utilizada é descritiva tendo por base o processo reflexivo, com recurso a pesquisa bibliográfica que sustenta a nossa intervenção e, ainda a análise e observação direta das experiências proporcionadas.
O desenvolvimento deste projeto permitiu confirmar que as intervenções que incluem a psicoeducação são as que demonstram mais eficácia, assim como as que são trabalhadas entre uma equipa multidisciplinar. Estas passam pela criação e operacionalização de programas de empoderamento das pessoas que sofrem de estigma, assim como, das suas famílias, de modo a permitir o desenvolvimento de competências que lhes permitam gerir de uma forma mais eficaz as consequências do estigma e autoestigma no seu dia-a-dia.
Deste modo, é possível verificar a necessidade de investir na identificação dos fatores causadores de estigma e autoestigma e de promover este tipo de intervenções, com o objetivo de diminuir o autoestigma.
This report transmits a description and reflection about the path made on this intership, where a set of specialized clinical skills were developed on the mental and psychiatric health nursing area, with the purpose of decreasing self-stigma on the mental health’s population. Throughout this report, there’s also mirrored the development of the Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Specialist skill set. A descriptive methodology was used, based on a reflective process using a bibliographic research that sustains our intervention, and also the analysis and direct observation of the experiences we went through. The development of this project allowed us to confirm that interventions that include psychoeducation are the most effective, as well as the ones actioned by a multidisciplinary team. They start with the creation and operationalization of empowerment programs of people suffering from stigma, as well as their own families, in a way that allows the development of skills on how to effectively manage the stigma and self-stigma consequences on a daily basis. This way, it is possible to verify the necessity to invest in tools that help us identify the main causes of stigma and self-stigma, and promote this kind of interventions, having the decrease of self-stigma as the main goal.
