This report presents and analyses the pedagogical practice developed in a Preschool Education context, focusing on the use of dramatic expression as a strategy to promote children's overall development. The pedagogical intervention was based on the principles of the Modern School Movement and on the Project-Based Learning methodology. Within this framework, the project “Let’s Discover New York” was developed, emerging from the interests expressed by the group of children. Over several weeks, the different phases of project work were implemented: definition of the problem question, research carried out in small groups, planning of activities, implementation of the proposed tasks, and moments of sharing and presenting the results. Among the activities carried out were a treasure hunt, a virtual trip to New York City, the preparation of pancakes, the construction of a model representing the city, and a final dramatization. Children’s active participation throughout all stages of the process fostered meaningful learning and highlighted the importance of participatory and child-centred pedagogical practices. The results indicate that dramatic expression is a relevant pedagogical resource to promote personal, social and cultural development, as well as to stimulate creativity, cooperation and knowledge construction
