Abstract(s)
população, priorizar, fixar objetivos, programar, executar e avaliar a intervenção. Foi
Covid-19 is a contagious disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus. Its consequences range from soft symptoms, like fever or body pain, to severe respiratory infections or death. This virus gets higher dissemination capacity in closed environments and with large populations, such as happens in Nursing Homes. To prevent outbreaks, itās essential that healthcare professionals have deep acquirements in infection prevention and control areas. This project pretends to contribute to prevention of COVID-19 spreadness in Nursing Homes by increasing the knowledge of healthcare providers in the subjects: Personal Protective Equipment and hospitalsā trash and waste management. The projectsā theoretical foundation was based on a literature review, according to Joanna Briggs Institutesā protocol. It was used the Health Planning Process Methodology, sustained on Nola Pendersā Health Promotion Model, to assess populationsā needs, prioritize, set goals, program, execute and evaluate the intervention. It was used the āSocial Action Protocol ā Residential Social Responsesā as a data collection instrument in 12 Nursing Homes. The project had 39 participants envolved. The strategies used on the project were Health Education and new technologies. After the educational sessions (āSafety practices in the use of Personal Protective Equipmentā and āSafety practices in the management of hospitalsā trash and waste to prevent the infectionā) there was an increase of knowledge on both themes, with an average success rate of 90% and 85% in assessment tests. About 90% of participants considered that the educational sessions were good for their professional growth, which means that the methods used among the project were suitable to the prioritized nursing diagnoses.
