Abstract(s)
The Air Force develops and maintains information systems required for its activity in exclusive and sensitive areas, some of which being highly complex, requiring a high level of quality and reliability. Considering the difficulty to attract and retain qualified human resources in the areas of information technology, the quality assurance of current systems, the increase in requests for new systems and the complexity of some of the existing software, it becomes increasingly important to optimize the entire software development process. Methodologically, using inductive reasoning, based on a qualitative strategy and a case study research design, supported by documental analysis and semi-structured interviews, to analyze whether the implementation of a test automation model creates added value during the process of developing and maintaining information systems in the Air Force. Through examples in civil organizations that produce information systems, as well as document analysis, it was concluded that it can add value to the software development process in the Air Force, increasing the quality of the developed systems and allowing for a better management of human resources, using these in creative tasks.
