Formação Complementar em Saúde Militar para Enfermeiros Militares na Resposta à Vertente Operacional

| dc.description.abstract | A formação dos enfermeiros militares da Força Aérea (FA) desde a década de oitenta do século passado, é da responsabilidade da Escola do Serviço de Saúde Militar. O curso de enfermagem foi sempre o de maior expressão relativamente aos outros cursos, sobretudo pelo número de alunos que o frequentaram e frequentam. Foi também o que sofreu maiores transformações, acompanhando a evolução do ensino de enfermagem ocorrida a nível nacional. A formação Científica e Técnica inicial, bem como alguns cursos de especialização em enfermagem, foram ao longo das últimas três décadas ministrados na Escola do Serviço de Saúde Militar (ESSM), contributo essencial para o desenvolvimento profissional dos enfermeiros militares. Em 2005 foi superiormente decidido pelo Exército, a exteriorização do curso de licenciatura em enfermagem, celebrando para o efeito um protocolo com a Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Lisboa (ESEL). Da análise efetuada aos planos de estudo dos Cursos de Licenciatura em Enfermagem das escolas ESSM e ESEL, verifica-se que os mesmos não contemplam formação na área da emergência e trauma, consideradas essenciais para o desempenho das funções do enfermeiro militar no apoio sanitário à vertente operacional. Neste contexto, procurou esta investigação identificar a necessidade de formação complementar em Saúde Militar a ministrar aos enfermeiros militares, a fim de adequar as competências técnico profissionais ao cumprimento da sua missão na vertente operacional. Para concretizar esse objectivo, recorreu-se ao método de investigação da autoria de Raymond Quivy e Luc Van Campenhoudt em Ciências Sociais proposto pelo Instituto de Estudos Superiores Militares (IESM). Este método inicia-se com a questão de investigação, da qual resultam outras, procurando-se, assim, dar as respostas através das hipóteses formuladas. Para a investigação, além da pesquisa documental, foi aplicado um questionário à população de enfermeiros militares da FA e entrevistas exploratórias. Esta investigação permitiu concluir, que o perfil de competências conferido pela Licenciatura em Enfermagem, não habilita o enfermeiro militar ao desempenho profissional no apoio sanitário à vertente operacional. Por outro lado, a implementação de formação complementar nos domínios da emergência, trauma e evacuação aeromédica são consideradas pelos enfermeiros como essenciais para adquirir as competências necessárias ao desempenho da actividade no apoio sanitário à vertente operacional. Abstract: The training of nurses of the Portuguese Air Force since the eighties of last century, it is the responsibility of the Escola do Serviço de Saúde Militar. In this context, this research sought to identify the need for additional training in the Military Health minister to military nurses, in order to bring the technical professional skills to carry out their mission in the operational side. To achieve this objective, we used the method of research by Raymond Quivy and Luc Van Campenhoudt in Social Sciences proposed by the Instituto de Estudos Superiores Militares (IESM). For research, in addition to desk research, a questionnaire was administered to nurses in military of Portuguese Air Force and exploratory interviews. This investigation has concluded that the skills profile conferred by degree in nursing, it enables the nurse to perform military training in health support to the operational side.
