Abstract(s)
This study aimed at understanding the implications that the new Portuguese Language program had in the curricular design of the course of the 1st cycle of Basic Education Teachers, in-service training and further training and its applicability in schools. This is an exploratory study which counts with the participation of 1st cycle of basic education teachers from different groups of schools in Portugal, with faculty supervisors of Higher Education of the Master Qualification Program for Teaching - Preschool and 1st cycle of Basic Education and some trainees from the course in question. This is a non-probabilistic sample, since the elements of the population were chosen based on the correspondence between their characteristics and the objectives of the study. By triangulating data obtained in a questionnaire survey, documental analysis and interviews we conclude that not only 1st cycle of Basic Education teachers, but also the supervisors and their trainees, develop their Portuguese Language lessons plans, whether they include writing activities or not, having the new Portuguese Language program as a reference. There is, however, a minority that develops their lessons plans with the older Portuguese Language program as a reference
