Abstract(s)
Esta monografia foi realizada com recurso a uma revisão da literatura científica, através da pesquisa de artigos obtidos na plataforma Pub-Med, Medline, Google Scholar, B-on, utilizando os termos: testes mecânicos (mechanical testing), materiais dentários (dental materials), dureza (hardness) e resistência (strenght). Foi dada preferência a revisões sistemáticas e meta-análises, tendo sido excluídos artigos de casos reportados ou caso controlo. Todos os artigos que não estivessem completos também foram excluídos.
Os conhecimentos dos testes mecânicos existentes na avaliação dos materiais utilizados em reabilitação oral são utilizados para avaliar se os materiais possuem falhas estruturais ou outras, sendo essenciais para que o investigador possa escolher o teste indicado na sua investigação tendo em consideração as variáveis que pretende avaliar e os recursos disponíveis.
De salientar que também são bastante importantes para a atividade clínica pois é a sua realização que vai permitir aferir se os materiais têm os níveis de qualidade necessários para um bom desempenho destes na cavidade oral.
As propriedades mecânicas utilizadas para avaliar os materiais utilizados em reabilitação oral foram ordenadas de acordo com a prioridade da sua medição: Resistência, Resistência à fratura, Módulo de elasticidade, Dureza e Desgaste.
This monograph was carried out using a review of the scientific literature, through the search for articles obtained on the platform Pub-Med, Medline, Google Scholar, B-on, using the terms: mechanical tests, dental materials, hardness and strength. Preference was given to systematic reviews and meta-analyzes, with articles from reported cases or case controls being excluded. All articles that were not complete were also excluded. The knowledge of the mechanical tests existing in the evaluation of the materials used in oral rehabilitation are used to assess whether the materials have structural or other flaws, being essential for the researcher to choose the test indicated in his investigation taking into account the variables he intends to evaluate and available resources. It should be noted that they are also very important for clinical activity because it is their realization that will allow to know if the materials have the necessary quality levels for their good performance in the oral cavity. The mechanical properties used to evaluate the materials used in oral rehabilitation were ordered according to the priority of their measurement: Strength, Fracture resistance, Modulus of elasticity, Hardness and Wear.
