Abstract(s)
For any organization to be successful in its mission, it is essential that it strives to enhance the intellectual skills and abilities of its workers. It wouldn't be different in the Public Security Police, where the need to establish means of training adequate to the police mission is more and more urgent. With the emergence of Polytechnic Police Education, a new window of opportunity is created to invest effectively in the training of Chiefs of Police. Therefore, this work sought to understand how this new course should be built, where we tried to establish a basis for planning the model and the curriculum plan, through the elaboration of a profile of job competencies, a survey of training needs for the career of Chiefs and an evaluation of the already existing the Chiefs Training Course to establish a point of comparison. To achieve these objectives, we opted for a multi-methodological approach, where interviews were conducted with trainers and police officers with links to the current training of Chiefs and a questionnaire was applied to Chiefs who completed the last two courses. It is concluded that a learning model adapted to adults should be followed in the new course and that there should be better management in terms of the teaching load in certain subjects, mainly linked to the area of Law, and that more investment should be made in the practical aspect of training, especially in the range of valences that trainees go through during the internship.
