Abstract(s)
A eficiência e eficácia da gestão logística dependem de sistemas de informação para melhorar significativamente a produtividade operacional e os armazéns deixam assim de ser vistos como meros centros de custos e passam a ter uma importância estratégica na organização. A presente dissertação de mestrado visa estudar o impacto da implementação de um Sistema de Gestão do Armazém (WMS) em operações logísticas tendo em conta um caso real na indústria veterinária farmacêutica. Com esta análise pretende-se mostrar o impacto que o uso de tecnologias de informação tem nas atividades diárias de um armazém. Com base na temática e tipologia deste estudo, foi necessária adotar uma metodologia para se ir ao encontro do objetivo geral e dos objetivos específicos deste trabalho. Assim, como técnicas de recolha de informação utilizaram-se o inquérito por questionário, a observação, as entrevistas e, por fim, a análise documental. Já para efetuar o tratamento e análise dos dados recolhidos, foi utilizado o método de análise de conteúdo. O objetivo esperado com este estudo é realçar a importância da informatização nas empresas, com o recurso a tecnologias facilitadoras que lhes poderão proporcionar uma otimização

The efficiency and effectiveness of logistics management depend on the information systems to significantly improve operational productivity and warehouses are no longer seen as mere cost centers but have a strategic importance in the organization. This master's thesis aims to study the impact of the implementation of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) in logistics operations considering a real case in a veterinary pharmaceutical industry. With this analysis it is intended to show the impact that the use of information technology has on the daily activities of a warehouse. Based on the theme and typology of this study, it was necessary to adopt a methodology to meet the general objective and specific objectives of this work. The techniques used to collect information were the questionnaire survey, observation, interviews and, finally, document analysis. The content analysis method was used to process and analyze the collected data. The expected objective of this study is to highlight the importance of computerization in companies, with the use of facilitating technologies that may provide them with logistical optimization.
