Abstract(s)
O presente projeto explora as mudanças nas estações do ano representadas pela
arte e cultura visual portuguesa ao longo dos séculos. Importa estudar como elas
são representadas, entender o poder polivalente das estações na cultura visual e
as traduções intersemióticas de linguagens. O estudo que apresentamos evidencia
o trabalho desenvolvido de tradução de uma linguagem para outra, utilizada
metaforicamente ou semanticamente e de forma mais ampla, artisticamente,
como o ocorre na tradução entre linguagens verbais e na tradução de idiomas.
As paisagens portuguesas foram utilizadas recorrentemente pela cultura visual.
Filmes como The Ninth Gate com Johnny Depp (1999), produzido no Parque
Nacional de Sintra, mostra um cenário de outono, época do ano das folhas
amarelas pendentes e castanhas espalhadas pelo chão, os ramos que balançam
contra o frio e névoa. Ruínas e palacetes no entardecer com os corvos a grasnar.
O cenário de tensão e suspense é constante para justificar elementos visuais que
são incluídos como referências do dia a dia e, talvez, estigmatizados pela história
da arte e da cultura visual. Qual é a disciplina que estuda e é responsável por esse
estigma?
A beleza na mudança da paisagem do dia a dia tem como fundamento as quatro
estações, que nos gera perguntas como: Que influências as estações têm sobre o
ser humano? Qual é o nosso modo de ver a natureza?
Através de ensaios críticos e académicos que examinam as conexões entre as
diversas disciplinas e paisagens, levantaremos questões complexas sobre cultura,
imagens e sociedade. O nosso objetivo é explicar os efeitos impactantes da
Cultura Visual e o quotidiano na pluralidade das ciências sociais e desenvolver
uma compreensão de significados da complexidade dessa disciplina. Assim
responder: é possível uma obra de arte ser analisada sem o contexto sociocultural
da sua criação? A paisagem é rececionada pelo espetador apenas pelo olhar
mecânico (a retina)?
This project explores the changes in the seasons represented by Portuguese visual art and culture over the centuries. It is important to study how they are represented, to understand the multipurpose power of stations in visual culture and the intersemiotic translations of languages. It questions and shows what it means to translate from one language to another, such as from romance to film, from film to photography. Used metaphorically or semantically, it includes a broader notion of translation than that between verbal languages between nations. Portuguese landscapes have been used repeatedly by visual culture. Films like The Ninth Gate with Johnny Depp (1999), produced in the National Park of Sintra, show an autumn scenery, time of year with hanging yellow leaves and chestnuts scattered on the floor, the branches that sway against the cold and fog. Ruins and palaces in the evening with the crows squawking. The scenario of tension and suspense is constant to justify visual elements that are included as references of everyday life and, perhaps, stigmatized by the history of art and visual culture. Which discipline do you study and are responsible for this stigma? What is our way of seeing nature? What discipline is responsible for the study of our relationship with the landscape? All clinical and academic essays that examine the norms between different disciplines and landscapes, raise complex questions about culture, images and society Explain the impact of the visual culture and daily life in the plurality of social sciences, so our goal is to develop an understanding of meanings of the complexity of visual culture. So respondent: is it possible for a work of art to be analyzed in the socio-cultural context of its creation? Is the landscape received by the spectator only through the mechanical eye (the retina)?
