Abstract(s)
The Education for Risk and Health Promoting Schools are essential for the shaping of conscious and active citizens. In this context, we can say that burns are a major cause of accidents where children are the most affected group and it is essential to acquire the knowledge about this topic and competences about how to act. Therefore, this investigation focuses on the promotion of education for safety, in collaboration with the community. Therefore, the theoretical framework focuses on relevant aspects, which help us to understand the importance of this theme and the areas of approach, namely: education for citizenship, health education, curriculum guidelines and focal points of risk education, specifically about burns. Regarding the methodology, this study is framed within a qualitative research approach, based on practice research. To collect the data, I will use an unstructured observation, as well as interview and questionnaire surveys. In order to achieve what is proposed, we need to know students’ previous knowledge and approach contents in a didactic sequence that promotes students’ learning. For this reason, the didactic sequence planned for my intervention was designed to allow the presentation of activities that enable learning in a practical and playful way, including handling objects, so students can feel captivated and invited to learn more about burns and burns prevention. Considering the pandemic situation that devastates us (COVID- 19), it was impossible to apply my intervention in a school. In this way, in the final considerations, I will only carry out a global a balance of the work developed and what could be expected
