Abstract(s)
This internship report comes as part of the conclusion of the Master's degree in Safety and Hygiene at Work, taught at the Higher School of Technology, in partnership with the School of Business Sciences. The internship was held in the workshop of CP – Comboios de Portugal, in Barreiro in the Bogies section and aimed to monitor the entire activity Safety and Health at Work (OST), the identification of hazards and their risk assessment to which workers are subject in carrying out their activities/tasks and also the study of the risk perception of these same workers. For risk assessment, specifically in the Bogies repair section, all the work and its stages were followed, dialogued with the workers and their managers and analyzed accident data over time. In the risk assessment, the Occupational Accident Risk Assessment Method (MARAT) was used, and consequently, the possible corrective measures were defined to eliminate/minimize the associated risks. The workers belong to two very different age groups, so it was intended to evaluate the different risk perception of each group. Twenty interviews were conducted to understand the perception of the risk that workers have in their workplace. It was concluded that the age of the worker seems to have influence, but also other factors seem to intervene in the perception of risk.
